Hip extension is the key center of human movement and strong gluteal function is essential to get the hip into hyper extension to generate movement forward. Knee, shoulder and even back rehab should include hyper extension of the hip in order to regain a healthy, full-body movement since your walking gait is compromised whenever you have an injury or any kind. There are many ways of not moving well but in all classes we have a strong focus on movement starting from the pelvis. Watch the video below to hear Dr. Gharavi and I talk about the importance of rehabbing movement instead of a body part. He will be here in Victoria in January through special invite and would like to hear from you if you want to join his talks or have any ideas on how to promote him here on the island.
