Shimmy Mob

Shimmy Mob Bellydance

*NOTE: No Class March 3

The primary objective is to raise donations to shelters for abused women and children, worldwide.

Our secondary objective is to produce a flash mob type event formed by dancers and non-dancers, performing a choreographed medley of belly dance styles.

The Shimmy Mob performances take place on World Bellydance Day and serve to promote the dance, participating dance teachers and schools offering free related events happening in the local participating areas.

The event is pre-arranged at officially pre-authorized locations at specific times.

The media are involved in this project and there is nothing random about Shimmy Mob.

For more information on how you can be involved please read more here. You can contact the local team leader and instructor, Bunny, at

Bunny started belly dancing in 2003 as a fun way to get into shape. She was attracted to the strong, sensual movements, and kept finding more and more to love about the dance. With an ever growing passion for dance and fitness, Bunny has taken a variety of workshops and classes in various genres including: Jazz, hip hop, West African, ballet, bollywood, Zumba, and tribal fusion. Some of these influences can be found in her teaching style. When not dancing, she is likely running or reading. Bunny is currently a member of Sacred Centre Dance Company, a performing troupe under the direction of Artistic Director and choreographer Nath Keo. Bunny is also a devoted participant in the annual International Shimmy Mob event, and has been team leader for Victoria since 2013. This event raises funds and awareness for local women’s shelters in participating cities, and promotes belly dance in the community. For more information, please visit:
