The Bungee system was originally invented to help rehab a professional athlete by the name of Anastasia Zueva. Anastasia was injured but with the help of the 4D Bungee, she went from a status of “immobilized, no weight on injury” to winning the title of world champion and setting a new world record. With the objective of providing perfectly targeted therapy, her physician, Dr. Gharavi designed a device that would control load and mobilization restrictions but at the same time allow the patient to facilitate the development of performance. A philosophy based on movement to prevent muscles from atrophy, not on restricting movement. It is simple, comfortable, effective, easy on the joints – and fun.
The Bungee Fitness system was designed by a trauma surgeon to treat his patients immediately following surgery to prevent muscle atrophy. But more importantly, the exercises target more than just muscles – the fascia gets a dynamic workout as well. It takes 12-18 months to build new soft tissue. So working out in manners that challenges elastic fiber growth is extremely important, especially when we reach an age that tends to decline in muscle and collagen manufacturing.
